You may remember the baby water dragon I featured in a photo here a little while back?

Well, the magical version of him has been accepted in the Moreton Bay Region's Art Awards photographic/digital section. I have also had the 'Tree of Life' I made last year preselected.

So, have visited the Tip Shop and these are the bits I have selected with which to make my piece of work. So far, so good!

Short term plans

I've been slugging away, waiting for the busyness to slow down a bit but three weeks out from Christmas it is still not letting up. One of my Masters Supervisors has contacted me about starting my PhD next year, so now I am busy trying to write a half decent research proposal and have it in prior to Christmas. On the up side, with some news that hard work is paying off, I have been selected as a finalist in the BCCs recycled art comp which culminates in April next year. Web link below:

Recylcing Art Competition

Exciting News

So, there are two things I need to tell you which are pretty big. Firstly, I have been invited to exhibit in a London Gallery early in 2011, which will be very exciting for an Aussie Girl. It will cost me quite a bit of money, but it is an opportunity too good to let go of. More details as they come to hand.

Also, the painting I posted when I was whining about being in a rut a couple of weeks ago has lifted my spirits by winning first place in the National WetlandCare Art and Photography competition. I painted it for the prize, Wetlands obviously being a subject close to my heart, but I didn't expect to win. So I will probably be going to Canberra, the Nation's capital in Feb to see the exhibition, collect my prize and celebrate World Wetlands Day.
