Coastal creativity

What has become an annual break at the Sunny Coast proved to be a relaxing and creative break, despite the odd trip back to Brissy to take care of a few things that couldn't be done earlier. Some photos, including some art work that I managed to do whist inspired by the magnificent view.

Back from the Bunyas (again)

Just returned from what has become a yearly trek to the Bunya Mountains. Well, actually it was a week ago, and in the ensuing week back at the grindstone, the trip has faded into a distant memory. I could swear it was at least a month ago. The break was heavenly as usual. I have put in some pics below and more will follow when I get my act together and get them off my hard disk. Can't say I am thrilled to be back. Still, it was a boost to the ailing batteries and I got to hang out with some of my favourite people - of the avian variety.

There's this gorgeous young man (Satin Bower Bird) - I also got some good pictures of his harem members:

The little fellas are hard to catch with a camera - they're little teases, actually, showing up and posing then flitting off just when you get your focus right. Anyway, managed to catch this Eastern Spinebill after his bath.

Meanwhile, blogger has a 'new look' - some more change for the sake of it. I'm all for progress, but can't they leave stuff alone for 5 minutes? If it ain't broke...

Holidays

As soon as school was finished for me on the 7th of December, we hit the road for a week's break at Noosa. It was lovely and just what the doctor ordered, but of course time went by in a flash. Picks taken on the Noosa River and Lake Cootharaba below:

Then the MOTH and I spent another 3 nights away at Springbrook to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Also good for the soul to disappear into the rainforest and commune with its creatures for a while, even if it did include the odd leach. It was cool and damp and of course I could have stayed there forever, but now I am back in the real world. and it is full steam ahead till Christmas. I did come back with lots of ideas for art work, but not the time to implement any of them! On Tuesday, which was actually our anniversary, we went in to South Bank and took in a number of exhibitions at GoMA, including Matisse. All very good, but I will save that for the next few blogs.  For now, hope you have a great Christmas!
